How Do You Use the HondaLink® App and What Are the Features?
The new HondaLink® app allows you to “link your vehicle with your life”. The HondaLink® app keeps you connected with your vehicle no matter where you are. It’s all at your fingertips and it’s easy to use! You can download HondaLink® off of the App Store or Google Play, so it’s compatible with just about any smartphone device. But the big question is how do you use the HondaLink® App and what are the features?
The HondaLink® app is available for select Honda vehicles and some features on the app are only available for certain models. So, before you download the app, check to see if your Honda is compatible with this Vehicle Compatibility test. Once you get to the website, put in the year of your car and the model and scroll down below to see what features are available for your car.
Depending on what Honda model you drive, there are different features available. “Standard Features” (for select vehicles) include vehicle guides, which gives you detailed information about your car (a digital owner’s manual), parking reminder, which gives you the exact location of where you parked your car and even directions, service appointments, so you can schedule your next service appointment, recall information, so you know if your vehicle was involved in a recall, and 24 hour roadside assistance, so if your car breaks down, someone is always there to help. These features are all free and come standard to the app for select vehicles.
You can also connect with your vehicle using different features like the Dashboard, which gives you up to date mileage, fuel and oil life readings for your vehicle, or Vehicle Notifications, so you can receive alerts when your vehicle light comes on or when you need to schedule a service appointment. Another great feature so that you can stay connected with your car is “Send Destinations”, which allows you to search for a destination on your phone and send the directions right to your navigation system, while the Favorites feature allows you to save destinations so you can easily send them to your vehicle. These “Stay Connected” features are all free and come standard to the app for select vehicles.
The HondaLink® app also has features that help give you peace of mind. Some of these features include Automatic Collision Notification, so in the event of a crash an agent will check-in and request that help be sent. Enhanced Roadside Assistance gives you live support if you are in need of towing and repair. The Emergency Call Feature allows you to call an agent who can request that help be sent to you. There is also a personal data wipe feature, so you can wipe and reset your navigation system.
The “peace of mind” features have a 12 month complimentary period, but after 12 months the “peace of mind” features costs $89 a year, these features are also available for a select amount of vehicles. You can also use the HondaLink® “Convenience at a Touch” feature. These include remote start and remote lock and unlock, so you can start, lock, and unlock your car from faraway. It also features security alarm alert, so you can receive alerts of when your security alarm is triggered, and stolen vehicle locator. The “Convenience at a Touch” features have a 3 month complimentary period, but after 3 months the “convenience at a touch” features cost $110 a year, these features are also available for a select amount of models. Although some features are for select models and some come at a price, all features enhance the everyday driving experience and make everything convenient and easy to use.
